Regarding the Campfire Event:
It is currently scheduled for 8 PM server/Central time on Friday, January 19th.
At the present time, my ideal location would be in Feralas, atop one of the Twin Colossals. There is an NPC by the roadside who can send you to the top, and once there, another NPC who sells parachutes for the trip down. There's a lovely view, plenty of room to stretch out in, and a pond to dive and fish in, and if Cognite is present and so inclined, people less familiar with the area can be summoned up or down. (It's not clear as of yet whether the NPC sends people to the top of the same Colossal every time. That will have to be tested.)
Everyone is encouraged to bring anecdotes to share while food is passed around, then as the sun sets the communal story-weaving will begin. I will begin a story thread (something nonspecific along the lines of "A paladin, a priest and Varimathras walk into a bar..." but not sounding so much like a bad joke) and then, going around the campfire in a circle, each person will have the time that one campfire lasts to continue it (about four or five minutes). Be silly and creative! The logs will, of course, be posted onto the forums.
Plenty of campfire materials and munchies will be needed, as will supportive "ambient" emotes. Formal RP attire is not necessary, as it has a tendency to get stained in Feralas.

Mnia's adventure at one of the Twin Colossals:
Mnia decides to speak to that NPC and go [whoosh] to the top. Whee! She sees a nice little pond and tries to fish in it, but many fish get away. Booo. It's raining, but Mnia doesn't mind... Hopefully it doesn't rain on Friday. Mnia looks at the map and notices she's on the Eastern Colossal; she talks to the parachute vendor and decides to leap gracefully from the Eastern edge of the Colossal.
Unfortunately, Mnia dropped right next to a "??" dragonkin. Booo.
Thus ended Mnia's Colossal Adventure.
(Note: Jump gracefully from the Western side of the Eastern Colossal, toward the road. Yes.)

Sweet. Now, who should I bring? *ponders* Eh, it'll probably be Mal, since the others probably wouldn't want to tell stories. Maybe Icy would, but Mal would be more fun. ;D

A partial log of the first small campfire session will be up shortly. Everyone PLEASE list dates that you know you will be free on and we'll schedule a second.
(By the way - if you didn't come to the first, you really missed out. Among many other things, Ruzhia got chased by a bear in absentia.)

I happen to like two spots in Ashenvale, so I'll suggest them for future campfire locations.
Going south from Darkshore into Ashenvale, there's an unoccupied Night Elf building on the right side of the road shortly after you enter Ashenvale (directly west of Bathran's Haunt if you know where that is). May take place indoors or outdoors since the building is large enough, and it's pretty safe and easy to get to.
The second spot is a bit more isolated but still fairly easy to get to (mobs around this area of Ashenvale are 20s): Due west of Astranaar and northwest of the Shrine of Aessina, nestled at the foot of the mountains, is a small unoccupied cottage and a little moonlit shrine. There are more spiders in the area, however, compared to the first spot. >_>
Anyway. Weekends are probably best, I guess.

Ditto for weekends, but I'm also free for most of Friday (when real life doesn't come bite me in the ass). Most other days I have classes in the evening and ETAs range from a little after 7:30 to after 9:00. If you're pondering something during the day, lemme know and I'll look into those times as well.
