Mniakitty's claimed the guild couch (or rather, the space behind it) as her turf. Fair enough.
But no one knows what the guild couch looks like!
Submit your ideas for what the guild couch should be like, and then Mniakitty will go and test them all out.

Olive plaid! <evil laughter> Or dark salmon. Hm, sure. It should be large and more classical in design--perhaps with those wings/ears coming off the sides. Oh... And I suppose it should be made with enchanted cloth to prevent Mniakittyclaws from puncturing it.

Def. a high backed couch, with enough seat depth to support night elf length hip-to-knee distance comfortably. Ideally with solid arms and plenty of bolsters and additional cushions. Maybe overstuffed? As to colour, perhaps a deep burgundy or an azure-blue fabric, with eitehr gold or silver trip respectively. Of course, with a couch under our metaphorical belts, we'll need a love-seat, and several armchairs. The Loveseat shold imo be the same design as the couch, with the armchairs being high-seated and wing-backed. Armchairs of this sort frequently come with ottomans, and should also have attendent side tables (circular, mahogany, mildly ornate scrollwork). If a central table or coffee table is desirable, it too should be mahogany, oval, and the witdth of the loveseat by the length of the couch, allowing an L-shaped configuration.
At least, that's my opinion, for what it's worth...

The task at hand was to design a guild couch, not a guild living room. *smacks Dosk's inner interior designer* *takes a shot at Dosk's sexuality, while mentioning that at least he didn't say anything about draperies* So, the perfect couch for 'Zani... - leather - dark green - long enough for night elves to lie down without their feet hanging over the edge - possibly overstuffed? *world shimmers and 'Zani imagines herself relaxing on the couch while servants bring her drinks and give her foot massages* ... Anywho, that's it for my couch. If I have the time, and get sufficiently inspired. I'll write up ones for other toons and perhaps some of my own.

Mniakitty likes the burgundy/gold idea but is confused by Dosk's other proposed furniture. Diagrams required. Overstuffed sounds very nice--perhaps with magical cushions that shrink/grow to the sitter's needs. Yesh! Wing-backed a big plus. <asks Dosk to engineer a mockup of the 'Zanicouch> <Mniakitty trots over and begins batting at it and sprawling on it> Mmm, Mniakitty says pawthumb-down to leather. It gets sticky in the summer and too cold in the winter (were Mnia to use it in noncat form--quite possible). On the other hand, it might be cat-hair-proof. (But that's what enchanted cloth is for!)

Just to be different, Dae would prefer a long, backless couch. Something more of a padded bench, with a very wide cushioned seat. Definitely would have to be wide enough so that people can sit down back to back down the long sides. The cushions would be made of absorbent cloth, stuffed with batting, and fixed firmly to the bench. Instead of having a solid base, there would be a cubby underneath the couch, screened with a cloth draping, to store things, Mniakitties, and/or dead hookers in. The cushions and cloth would be a light beige, while the wooden bench parts would be a dark wood, almost black, in keeping with our tabards.

Mniakitty has no idea how to use a backless couch. Colors sound nice. Maybe Dae can have her own chaise longue, since that's what I first visualized. ...Absorbent? For... what?

The ideal guild couch would stand not much more than six feet off the ground, and weigh not more than half a ton (for ease of maneuvering). Its front legs should be longer than its back legs.
It should be covered in thick brown fur (my preference is for darker rather than lighter) , except on the antlers, which will be padded in velvet until fully grown, when they will be used to ward off my enemies as I ride it around the room, cackling madly and proclaiming myself Empress of The Common Hall!

<Mniabear ambles over to a large scale and plops furry butt on it, weighing herself> <pauses> <peers around> <straps a pair of druidy antlers onto her head> <hops off scale and barrels in full bearforce at Ruzhia> <Mniabearcouch squishes Ruzhia>

*sighs, pulls Mniabearcouch off the Ruebot, uses absorbent chaise longue to wipe up the mess*
Proceed!

<Doskious constructs [The Guild Couch], a morphic-enabled replicant-enabled perspectively-defined article of furniture, to provide for differing tastes in furniture.>
Gnomish Engineering at it's finest!
...
I suppose that in fairness I should warn you, [The Guild Couch], although rated Perfectly Safe by the Gnomish Inventions Buearu, was found in testing to sometimes cause odd skin irritations, the worst of which resulted in the spontaneous growth of a third arm. That condition only surfaced once, and was addressed by amputation and skin grafts, covered by my Inventors Insurance policy. I believe it was iinduced by my recent use of my Ultrasafe Transporter to Gadgetzan. No moulting, hair loss, or other skin loss has been observed in the operation of this device.

<kittysmacks Doskious> That's dangerous. Dae should order a traditional couch, thank you. Also, the presence of a guild couch has encouraged the inclusion of a guild bar (food and some alcohol as well as other drinks), a resident Gnomish Cheftender 8000 (he takes care of the food) and... well, I'm not sure what we're doing about the bartender now. Anyway, there's also a guild mailbox by the entrance! What else? A diagram may be necessary. Hmm. Do we have a guild table?

We have to have a warcouncil/cardgame/whatever table, somewhere...and now Rue's got her workspace...hmm hmm. Very ugly very tentative very not-to-scale mental map of things...complete with porch area, lazy-mailbox (accessible from indoors! Bah, sunlight burns!), still-undefined sleeping area, MYSTERY SPACE, and now a meeting table:

I got bored and added a few things to your original design (which was very, very spiffy). Consolidated the four windows into one big window for the heckuvit. I also rotated the couch 90° because I think cats only like the space between the couch and the wall. I dunno. Any cat owners out there who can confirm this? I like this idea, but we need more opinions. Plus, where would this place be geographically, I wonder. POST, PLEBS! I mean... what?

Re: Couch placement against the wall: As for the geographical location, I vote for the Understormwind. <cackle> (Though I wasn't present when Palindine/Konrad showed us the presumably easier way to enter it...)
