Right, I'm going to try to keep the thread here as one post, one mod. That said, I use a lot of mods.
I will try to start with the mods that are the most useful in my estimation across the board, and will probably devolve to specific-use mods as the posts tote up.

Enough reading, let's get to the mods!

Cartographer ( wowui.incgamers.com/?p=mod&m=4386) is a map mod, with several useful additions to the default world map. It includes the option to reveal the whole map, as well as to shade undiscovered regions. It also tracks Gathering nodes - Ores, Herbs, Treasures, quest items, etc., as well as merchants, trainers, mailboxes, et. al. It can also display these items on the minimap, and track them. It also can display the location of other guild members with the addon installed, in addition to party members, as usual. As you can see, the tracking inherent to my character, Valkrysi, as a hunter is folded into the same tracking for the various other options. Val is, of course, only 29 in these shots, and has never been to the outlands.

wowui.incgamers.com/?p=mod&m=3386The Bongos toolbar system is very flexible, and still easy to customize to fit your needs. The game recognizes 120 action buttons, as well as the custom buttons such as the menu and bag buttons. In this shot, the basic menu interface and my personal bar layout can be seen. I The bars can be set to show or hide buttons as desired, and can be re-arranged easily on the screen by unlocking them. Sticky bars enable the bars to stick to adjacent bars, for easier layout configuration and alignment. Each bar can be hidden or shown, and you can have separate configurations for different characters as desired. In addition, the default number of buttons per bar can be changed, and you can see that I have 12 bars of 10 buttons each, rather than the default 10 bars of 12 buttons each. Each bar can also be individually modified. The mod has very simple keybinding functionality, as can be seen in the next shot - just switch to bindings mode, mouseover the button you want to bind a key to, and press the key. Bongos also has the capability to replace the minimap with one possessing additional functionality - as can be seen, mine is square, and has the server time indicated.

x-Perl Unit frames ( www.wowinterface.com/downloads/info5248-X-PerlUnitFrames.html) The dizzying array of options presented in this mod might turn some of you off, but I find that in general, once you get it working the way you like, it's worth the time. It displays so much more information using unit frames than the default frames in the game that it isn't even funny. A Frame for your target's target's target. Party targets. Pet target (only your pet, tho). Healer-friendly health displays. Raid MainTank target indicator (only created onscreen when in raids!). Focus frame (for those annoying escort quests). Focus' Target (so you know what mob he's hitting that isn't yours). The works. Click on a fram, it targets that mob/player/npc. And it has tutorials! I couldn't live without it.

Itemprice is a very simple mod that displays the vendor value of an item in that item's tooltip. ( wowui.incgamers.com/?p=mod&m=4442) The Fizzwidget Disenchant Predictor shows the enchanting materials that any given item can be DE'd into. The mod registers as un-updated since the new patch, but still works just fine. =3 ( wowui.incgamers.com/?p=mod&m=1111) Cursor Companion keeps the tooltip at the mouse pointer, which I prefer, since that's where I'm looking. ( wowui.incgamers.com/?p=mod&m=6120) Finally, though unpictured below, MobInfo 2 is a great mod that archives a database of information collected about various mobs - HP, MP, drops, XP gained, etc. Working on a good screenshot of that. ( wowui.incgamers.com/?p=mod&m=1143) Behold!

As a side note, I have a great respect for all of the Fizzwidget suite of mods -- even though they haven't been updated since the last patch, they still work just fine for the most part, and are very useful. Just search wowui.incgamers.com/?p=home for "Fizzwidget" and they all should pop up. More on Fizzwidgets later.

I use an addon called Immersion RP ( wow.curse.com/downloads/details/4372/). It uses the flagRSP back-channels, which have become a user-defined default RP backbone - many mods now use the same guidelines to display the same data. Most of you have RP addons anyway, but I'm posting it for the sake of completeness, and because I can. It's got a shiny interface. And an optional Social mod that allows more spiffy options.

OneSuite ( www.curse.com/downloads/details/1295/) is a suite of inventory mods. OneBag merges all of your screen-eating bag displays into one frame, which then pops up as your inventory. Yes, you say, but what if I don't want to search through my whole inventory? The mod can add in breaks between bags, if you prefer. I'm one of those crazy people who likes not to have to worry about remembering where an item landed, as long as I have it in there somewhere. Chances are good that if I have to use it, I mapped the use to a toolbar already. The rest of the Suite accomplishes much the same sort of thing for the Bank, and the Keyring. OneView allows you to easily view the inventory and bank slots of the rest of your alts as well as your bank, even while in the wilds. Observe: Val's Inventory and Bank: The Selection Menu: (Move your arm, Vanna) And Dosk's Inventory and Bank:

Outfitter ( wowui.incgamers.com/?p=mod&m=4554) is a great mod for RP and in-game use! By level 60, even, Dosk has too many trinkets to equip at once. (He had too many at ~lvl 32 but that's another story.) He's got the Carrot for riding, the Argent Dawn insignia for killing Undeads, the Goblin Jumper Cables for last-ditch rez, not to mention the Gnomish Shrink Ray and Gnomish Death Ray that he usually equipps. There are more. Outfitter will seamlessly switch between the right trinkets for certain zones - Dawn insignia only in the Plaguelands, carrot only when mounted. You can custom-design different outfits too, be it for RP or for different styles of play. Observe Val's setup: This is a "special occasion" outfit, which modifies her base setup ("Normal") for whenever she finds herself in a capitol city. in the event that there isn't enough space in your bag to take things off, they stay on the character, potentially ruining your intended look but retaining your gear, which I prefer ^__^.

AuditorFu ( wowui.incgamers.com/?p=mod&m=3446) is a truly lovely mod (designed for use with FuBar, which I don't use) with excellent standalone capabilities. It keeps track of your money. All of it. On each character. Incoming and outgoing, differentiated by loot, vendor, trade, AH, bank, etc. I love it especially if you have several toons and want a nice easy to read rundown of your net worth, or if you're curious how much you just made off of that run through SM. It seperates by session, as well as by day, so to log revenue from an instance run, just re-log to refresh the session. (Timing the run will easily yield a gold per hour figure, Auditor does not do this for you.) Screenies:

Soundtrack ( www.curse.com/downloads/details/2342/) is a lovely mod (that has a few glitches but works pretty well for me) that let's you assign your own music to play when certain ingame events are triggered. It could be combat, Combat with a Rare, combat with a Boss, being in Ironforge, Mounting up, taking a gryphon, or just emote Dancing. You can set playlists to play when these things occur. The mod is a tad more complex than others I've posted, but aside from downloading a python compiler, (Python is a kind of programming language, and I promise that the Soundtrack python files will not screw up your computer. I promise. If they do, I'll visit you in person to help fix it. **These remarks guarenteed accurate with regard to Soundtrack released as of 2/6/2008. If you have trouble with future releases, I'll still probably come help, but I can't *promise* that the files are good. If you want to ask me to check before you update or d/l, that's fine too!), the instructions are very simple to implement and get great music for those bits that perhaps you've noticed are ... lacking it in the game as it stands.
