Name: Reycied Denhall Moonblade
Class / Level: Paladin, Level 70
Professions: Herbalism / Alchemy
Titles: Knight-Errant of the Silver Hand, Skyguard Airman 2nd Class, Blessed Knight of the Sha'tar, Seed of A'dal
Age: 19
Sex: Male
Family
Raid Moonblade, brother
Lunaciel Glenkeeper-Moonblade, sister-in-law
Appearance:
Despite being able to bear a full suit of plate-mail armor, a heavy shield and a burdensome sword, once shorn of his armor Reycied looks like little more than a scrawny, frail boy. Given strength by his unnatural affinity towards the Holy Light, he is able to wield the heavy armaments of the Paladin through sheer force of will and unswerving devotion.
Reycied's hair was once raven-black, and still looks so in direct light, but when viewed from the right angle it is possible to see a touch of premature gray, giving his locks a lighter appearance. His eyes are a stark, bright shade of turquoise (and, it should be noted, are very large, perpetually curious and fetchingly shiny).
His features are delicate, almost androgynous, a mute testament to the sickness he bore before taking up the path of the Paladin. His skin is a deep and even shade of bronze. He bears a deep, aged scar over the bridge of his nose, and can almost always be seen wearing a pair of wire-rimmed pince-nez spectacles.
Reycied prefers light, breathable clothing when not in his armor, often clad in a long-sleeved, skin-tight black undershirt with a neckline almost reaching his jaw worn under a crimson cape and mantle.
On the back of his right hand, Reycied bares the whitish-blue, glowing symbol of A'dal.
Personality:
Reycied is a source of much duality. While he has a woefully Spartan amount of self-esteem, when dealing with others he can be stern and dedicated, a friend that will bear any pain or challenge.
Because of his youth, Reycied is prone to the occasional bouts of irrationality, hyopcrisy and depression. However, for the most part, he can always be seen with an inviting, warm smile on his face and an energized look in his eyes.
Notable Possessions
-The Continuum Blade, a one-handed sword made entirely out of broken fragments of the timeline. Granted to him by the Bronze Dragonflight for his deeds in the Caverns of Time.
-Chronicles of Outland, by Reycied Moonblade, a self-written tome of observations about the flora, fauna, regions and dangers of each area of Outland. Currently, the book resides in his quarters in Shattrath City because it has become so large and detailed that it is impractical to carry with him.
-A Dark Ring, a gift to him from Daeliria Moonshield. It is said that it will warn him when she is in danger. He has since not removed it.
-Moonshield Ring; Perhaps the last relic of the Moonshield clan of Night Elves, given to him by Daeliria. He wears it proudly on his left hand.
Biography:
Reycied was born the second son of Harmond and Phoebe Moonblade. His mother perished due to complications with his birth, and for the first several months it was unknown whether or not he would leave. Pale and sickly, he had respiration problems and would periodically cough up blood. His brother Raid, older by one year, was born hale and strong.
Because of his sickness, Reycied could not help with the farm his father owned. While Raid could milk the cows, till the fields and fix the fences, Reycied was left bedridden, only venturing outside for short periods of time. His father would bring home books from Northshire Abbey, and Reycied immersed himself in literature. Over the course of his youth, he learned enough to predict weather changes with uncanny accuracy by reading the clouds from his bedside window, or gauging the pressure in the air with a makeshift barometer. He also amused himself by picking herbs in the forest and making them into potions (sometimes with terrible or unexpectedly wonderful results).
Tragedy struck when he was eleven years old--his father was cut down by a highwayman on his way home from Westfall, and looted before the rogue was chased away by the passing Stormwind Militia. The only mementos he had left his sons were his wedding ring (left to Reycied) and his prized runecloth hair tie, emblazoned with the symbol of the Alliance (left to Raid).
Because they were too young to own land, Raid and Reycied were shipped off to live at Northshire Abbey. The local warrior trainer took Raid under his wing, teaching him to channel his rage at the injustice of his father's death into fighting skill.
Reycied spent a great deal of his time in the Abbey library. As he studied, the powers of the Light began to flow through him. The priests encouraged his talents, assuming him to be a competent healer. However, the thought of reaching someone in need too late drove him to want to be a protector, and he asked the local paladin trainer to teach him.
He was rejected outright for his scrawny physique. The priests admonished him for reaching for goals beyond him, and he couldn't even lift the weight of a practice warhammer without being wracked by painful coughs. Raid was supportive of him, sneaking him training armor in the middle of the night. The first few years showed no progress...but gradually he began to gain enough strength to bear his arms and armor without succumbing to his rapidly-fading sickness.
At seventeen, Raid left the abbey to join the Stormwind Guard. A year later, Reycied finally set out from the abbey, hammer in hand, to do his part for the Alliance.
Gaining in strength and skill, and always upholding the tenants of the Light, Reycied was given a task by the church--to infiltrate Blackrock Spire and investigate the orcs' activities. Ill-prepared, he was pursued by a horde of warriors to the edge of volcano, where he was peppered with arrows, stabbed and dumped into the lava, where he began to burn alive.
While floating in the realm between life and death, he was approached by the spirit of Uther the Lightbringer, who told him he had much more to accomplish in his lifetime.
Reycied awoke on the outskirts of Blackrock spire with some very strange changes to his body...notably a different eye color and the symbol of A'dal on the back of his hand.
And the power of the Light flowed ever more strongly within him...
Setting out once more, Reycied eventually came to Outland, growing ever stronger as he challenged the Legion. Among such notable feats as defeating a powerful Pit Lord in single combat, he has reached the limits of his personal power, and now seeks to gether together equipment and allies to march on the Black Temple.
Currently:
Reycied seems to be seeing the world through new eyes. While much the same as usual, he can be caught staring serenely into space with a giddy grin on occasion.
