Name: Konradexius Terexialus Askaxarus
Class / Level: Warrior, 70
Professions: Swordsmithing / Mining
Age: 30
Sex: Male
Family: None known
Appearance:
Konrad is very tall for a human, approaching the height of Night Elf males. He is also very heavily built and broad-shouldered, but aside from that, little can be said because so few have seen what he looks like under his armor.
Personality:
Konrad's greatest drive is Loyalty. He feels a strong need to be led, so he naturally searches for a competent, intelligent leader and bonds himself to that person. Once he has found such a person, his trust and loyalty is absolute; he will perform almost any task without question and would be willing to give his life for his chosen leader.
Notable Possessions:
- Fireguard, a powerful blade he forged himself. He has worn it almost continuously since its creation.
- A rare Ogre Idol, a small wooden trinket he discovered among the Ogres in Stranglethorn Vale. The magic contained within allows Konrad to transform into an Ogre temporarily. He generally only uses it while he is feeling particularly silly or mischievous, which does happen occasionally despite his often dour disposition. He is no longer allowed to use it when Daeliria is around.
- A ring of spun shadow, given to him by Daeliria. It is the same in nature as the one given to Reycied, and alerts him when Dae is in danger.
Biography: (PLEASE NOTE: No one has permission to use any of the information herein while In Character that they do not already know. Daeliria is an exception to this.)
Konrad was born to a Human mother and a half-blood elven father. His parents were both members of a cult that worshiped the black Dragonflight as Gods made Flesh. The cult, known as the Blackseekers, was located in the mountains between Redridge and the Burning Steppes, and that is where he was born.
He was raised under the tenants of the Blackseekers, and by the time he was a teenager he was participating in the rituals performed to appease their draconic masters. These rituals included Human Sacrifice, and at the age of 13 Konrad committed his first act of murder, cutting out the still-beating heart of a young mother on an altar of black stone.
Over the years, he participated in dozens of similar sacrifices. His faith in the beliefs of the Blackseekers, however, quickly faltered. The Black Dragonflight never gave the Blackseekers the slightest recognition for their efforts, and when he was 19 he stopped participating entirely, cursing the other cultists as hopeless fools. Several other members agreed with him, and one night conflict broke out as Konrad and the other dissenters attempted to stage a coup. He and the others were captured and, as punishment, were strapped down and baptized in alchemical Dragonfire. It was a process no one is supposed to survive, but Konrad stubbornly clung to life. Fortunately for him, the Blackseekers took this as a sign from their Dragon masters that he needed to live, so he was allowed to live and exiled.
While he did survive the Dragonfire, it mutilated him. His face and chest were permanently scarred and mangled. His face in particular is grotesque; he was not particularly handsome in the first place, and the horrible scarring makes him look like some sort of abused beast. Because of this, he constantly wears a full plate helmet that completely hides his face. In the guild, only Daeliria has seen him without it.
After his exile, he became a sword for hire. His time as a Blackseeker had left him with a penchant for bloodshed, a vague disregard for the lives of others, and perhaps a slight case of sadomasochism. He fought and adventured alone or in temporary alliances with others for several years, until he encountered a Paladin named Merloc in Stranglethorn Vale.
Merloc was impressed with his talent at arms, and invited him to join the guild Honor Before Death.
Konrad accepted unenthusiastically, expecting only a brief stay. However, he found himself among a small group of friendly, encouraging new people who gladly accepted him. He quickly became a prominent figure in the Guild, gaining favor and respect from all the members.
During his time in HBD, Merloc taught Konrad the way of the defender and the sword-and-shield. He excelled at the task, and became adept at taking blows effortlessly that would stagger a lesser man.
After a time, however, Merloc became more and more scarce. Eventually, he seemingly disappeared. The guild continued for a time afterward, but nonetheless slowly collapsed. Honor Before Death was no more, and Konrad found himself alone again.
And thus, Konrad once more adventured alone. But in time, he met the priestess Daeliria, and put his strength under the banner of the Eilon Kaerannis. Everything afterward should be self-evident....
Currently:
Konrad is diligently aiding the efforts of the Netherwing in Shadowmoon Valley, hoping to free them from the oppression of the Black Dragonflight and the Dragonmaw under Illidan's command.
